In the warmer months around our house and neighbourhood, we have a variety of birds coming and going. The Butcherbirds and Currawongs have the most melodic song, while various parrots squark and fly past at speed. Distant Kookaburras’ join the chorus at times, and Magpies warble with their reassuring chorus. If a neighbour’s cat is in the yard the Miner Birds let us know with their raucous squawk, likewise if the water is low in the Bird Bath.
