1949 in the wake of WW2, my mother’s family moved to Toowoomba. Coinciding with the inaugural Carnival of Flowers boosting morale and regional economic growth. This artwork celebrates the joy, optimism and colour that the carnival of flowers brought to Mum’s life as she celebrates her 100th birthday this year.
